Domiciliary Care

At Biomed Care Services we are committed to supporting patient independence. We provide domiciliary care services to patients who have made the decision to remain in their own homes, rather than go into a care home. Our domiciliary services are available to both private and NHS patients.

We understand that domiciliary patients often face challenges managing their medication and may need a little extra advice or assistance. Our services are designed to provide the highest standards of care to each and every patient and we always take an empathetic approach. We want to ensure that patients can continue to live comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible, without confusion over the management of their medication.

As part of our domiciliary care service, we order prescriptions, dispense medication into our special Biodose trays and deliver them to patients in their own homes. We take the time to advise and assist each and every patient so that they have full confidence in the management of their own medication.

Patient safety and improved healthcare outcomes are our priorities and that’s why we’re proud to use the Biodose system. Biodose is the only monitored dosage system on the market that accommodates both liquid and solid medications, for complete convenience and reduced risk of infection. The Biodose system makes it as easy as possible for home patients to manage their medication, with packaging that clearly displays medications, dose times and quantities and incorporates colour coding to help distinguish between different dosage times.

Using the Biodose system, we are able to deliver pre-measured pods containing both liquid medications and tablets or capsules to patients. This provides the best possible protection against the risk of medication dosage errors. The pre-measured pods allow for direct dispensing of liquid medications, making life easier for home patients by reducing the chance of spills and preventing them from having to hunt for spoons. When patients go out for the day, they can simply transfer pre-measured Biodose pods to a Handypak for a safe and convenient alternative to transporting the original packs.
